As ever Katie Eary offered attendees one of the most colourful shows during London Collections: Men, debuting her ”Areas of Flesh’ collection for AW15, inspired by the visuals of artists Jeff Koons and KAWS.
Looks were bold and vibrant, with pinks and oranges featuring heavily. The ”Areas of Flesh’ theme came into play with the human body used to adorn several pieces. Inner organs, including ribs, intestines and brains were created in Koons balloon aesthetic and decorated pieces including knitwear and T -shirts. Layered looks were worn on top of metallic turtlenecks for a cosmic effect.
Particular collection highlights are the pink knit jumper with a 3d effect brain detail in contrasting orange. Jeans featured lace-up crotch reminiscent of early Vivienne Westwood. While block colour parkas come in fun faux trims.
Eary fuses the grotesque aspects of organs but presents them in a rainbow palette, creating fun and bright looks for the season.
During the show Eary also gave a first look at her collaboration with lifestyle accessories label C6, with the two creating a limited edition laptop case. The purple case has a screen printed pink brain (in keeping with her mainline collection) and will be available in July from c6life.com
Hair for the show was provided by Fudge Professional
