Justin Bieber Street-Styled and Branded

If clothes make the man, at 19 years old, with an upwards of $130 million net worth, and ranked #9 on the Forbes list of most powerful and influential celebrities, it’s important to know – what is the Canadian Pop R&B performing artist Justin Bieber wearing?

Justin Bieber StyleThe Bieb’s fashion style is Fly, in other words, awesome. From the moment he signed his first recording contract in 2009, Justin has been professionally street-styled and branded. Stylists as diverse as Ryan Good, Kemal & Karla, and Kierra Pasta, have all influenced the laid back, relaxed fit, luxury style that has come to identify the ‘unique in the world’ star.

Having fun is key to The Bieb’s fashion look. Many of his clothes, like his signature slouchy leather pants, in different colors and patterns, are custom made. Long gone is Justin’s favorite color – purple. He has developed a monochromatic image of olives, dark to light greys, blacks and whites, with an occasional flash of red. Animal prints fit into the mix, as well as couture sports themed shirts and accessories.

Justin Bieber keeps it young and fresh in Givenchy and Jimmy Choo High-Top leather sneakers in black or dark burgundy. Burberry’s Animal Tee’s, and Alexander Wang’s classic white Tee are standard wardrobe choices. Givenchy‘s fleece-lined Football jersey with shoulder patterned stitches, or Charlie Gianetti’s Jersey Tank with 00 hand stitched numbers are standard items. Hardwood Snap back hats with sports team logos are essential, and keeping it casual means always having a pair of Belmain drop-crotch, ribbed cotton chinos with a tapered leg nearby (an elastic hem allows for versatile styling).

Being a super star and hounded by the ‘razzi’ goes hand-in-hand with covert vintage hoodies, oversize St. Laurent SL2 sunglasses, and of course gold dog tags with a President’s Rolex.

Rich, Famous, Fashionable Punks at the 2013 Met Gala

The punk themed fundraiser at the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Gala on the evening of May 6, honored high fashion and the icons that wear it. The Gala is considered the Oscars of fashion. Daring and risk is the name of the game. The clothes are the spectacle of the night.

Eight hundred celebrities, fashion designers, and super-models, from reigning Chairwoman Mrs. Beyonce Carter, to punk icon Debbie Harry, paid $250,000.00 per table to dine and enjoy JellO shots for dessert.

The event, sponsored by Moda Operandi Fashion and Conde Nast, celebrates the Metropolitan’s Costume Institute Exhibition, and highlights punks impact on high fashion. Moda Operandi has created an exclusive punk collection created by designers Givenchy, Balmain, and Vivienne Westwood who originally articulated the punk era by merging social realism with artistic expression.

No one in the dazzling crowd was wearing garbage bags or safety pins, and few captured the youthful sizzle of the original style.

Beyonce captured the evening wearing a flame-motif gown with a flame cut-out train created by Givenchy’s Riccardo Tisci.

Madonna wowed the crowd in a Tartan jacket, Givenchy pink spike heels, shredded fishnets and no pants. Anne Hathaway, in a vintage Valentino and a spiked blonde punk hairdo, channeled Debbie Harry, one of the revered stars of the exhibit, wearing Tommy Hilfiger.

Gwyneth Paltrow was edgy in a hot pink Valentino gown with a cut-out top, but the edginess of the theme threw many fashionistas off their game. Kim Kardashian, Kate and Ashley Olsen, Nicki Minaj, and many more, were not their usual fearless fashion selves.

Many of the looks from ‘Chaos to Couture’ are available through the Moda Operandi website. Everything is bona fide designer duds, fun and very cool.
